Public Statement from the Cayman Islands Insurance Association on Hurricane Beryl

The Cayman Islands Insurance Association wants to address our community regarding the recent impact of Hurricane Beryl. We understand that this has been a challenging time for many of our residents, and our thoughts are with all those affected by the storm.

If you have suffered any damage due to Hurricane Beryl, we urge you to contact your insurance provider as soon as possible. Reminder to safeguard property and take steps to mitigate damage.  Insurance providers are there to receive your claim notifications and assist with the claims process.  Prompt communication is crucial to ensure that your claims are processed efficiently and effectively.

Please be reminded that most insurance policies include a catastrophe deductible, which is typically a minimum of 3% of the insured value of your property. This deductible will apply to claims related to damages caused by the hurricane.

We encourage you to review your policy documents and reach out to your insurer for any clarification you may need. Your insurance provider is there to assist you through this process and to help you understand the specifics of your coverage and deductibles.
